The sun was burning, the waves were crashing, the birds were singing. Sounds like paradise, huh? Well, think again.
"Stupid suitcase.." Claire mumbled. The bloody thing got stuck in the sand, and she was making every efford trying to get it to move. She felt tired, and sweaty, and...pregnant. Very pregnant. Her clothes were sticking onto her arms and legs and the heat made in even more unbearable to be dragging around a suitcase as heavy as this. She kept tugging the handle of the suitcase as hard as she can. "you..stupid..."
With a big bang, Claire fell down in the hand. She sat up and seemed to be holding something that looked a lot like...a handle. One that may be found on a suitcase...
She sighed, threw herself down in the sand and looked at the sky...

"So, we use this like a spear, right? Just stick it in and poke the fish, or something?"
Charlie trudged along the beach behind Locke, carrying his sharpened stick and trying hard not to fall in the shifting sand, which was hard when he really didn't want to look down. Staring towards the horizon he could almost pretend this was an island paradise; looking down meant having to face the burnt out wreckage of civilisation.
Suddenly his concentration was disturbed by something that sounded vaguely human...The forest had been full of wild sounds, the beach of a strange silence. This was something else. "Did you hear that?" - but Locke didn't seem to have heard him, or it. He glanced round and saw something very round... and womanly. A blonde girl, heavily pregnant, lying on her back in the sand. "Hey, Locke! Over here!"

Claire looked up when she heard someone yell. She sat up straight and glanced around. Some guy was pointing in her direction, waving a sharp stick. She had seen the guy before. Charlie, was it? Hmm... Claire thought. How interesting..But Claire just assumed he was pointing towards something else and lay down on her back again, while a soft summerbreeze blew trough her long blonde hair. She just lay there, in the dand, watching the birds fly by. I wish I was a bird... She thought to herself. I could fly right out of this bloody island..(sorry, my posts smell like crap...) ((Womanly? )

Charlie saw the woman look up. Good, she's not dead. But she might still need help, and Charlie Pace, for all his issues, was nothing if not a decent guy deep down. It's just that the decency hid under a few layers of randomness, addiction, instability and insecurity. He briefly considered running after Locke, but the great white hunter had vanished, off in search of quarry. Probably didn't even notice I wasn't there any more... bloody typical
He stumbled over towards Claire, and knelt down next to her. "Hi... you okay?"
((yes, womanly... as in not a random piece of wreckage. Let me off, okay, I'm a recovering drug addict!))

Claire looked at Charlie. He came stumbling towards her and sat down in the sand.
Am I fine? Claire doubted. She thought about the suitcase she had just been trying to drag around. She looked around, there it was. She was still holding the handle. Bloody thing.....
"Yea, I'm fine." She smiled sweetly at Charlie. "It's just.." She showed him the handle and motioned to the suitcase. "Small issues.."

Charlie smiled back. "Bloody suitcases... You need a hand?"
Before she could answer he was on his feet again, with the frantic energy of a schoolboy. This Claire seemed nice.. certainly more human than the others, namely Bimbo, Ice Queen and Wilderness Man. And she certainly did have some.. issues. He tried not to look at the 'watermelon', didn't want to upset her, make her feel like some freak show exhibit, but she shouldn't, couldn't be left to fend for herself. He struggled back over, hefting the suitcase in a giant bear hug of sorts with both arms wrapped round it, its bulk blocking out his skinny little form and making him sway under its weight.

"Just..ehm.." She stood up, trying to help Charlie hold the suitcase, which wasn't really working out for him. So it seemed. He tried to lift it, two arms wrapped around it, and it looked like the suitcase was about twice his weight.
She smiled. It looked quite funny, him trying to get the suitcase over at the upper beach. She gave the suitcase some support so it wouldn't be too heavy for Charlie, since he looked like he was about to fall down under it's weight.
She was glad someone was helping her, ofcourse she was. But people here seemed to look at here with that look, like she was a monster. With so much pity. Sure, she had problems. Sure, she isn't like everyone else, but they better not treat her like a 'special case'. Though it was almost impossible for people not to. And for a second, Charlie looked at her thesame way. The 'I feel so sorry for you' look. She hated that.
(Gosh..crappy.)

"Hey, don't worry.." Charlie somehow managed to get the words out between his stumblings and heavings. "I can handle it..." And as if to prove how competent he was, he proceeded to drop the thing. Nice job, Charlie... as useless at this as everything else.
"Stupid bloody suitcase..." He kicked it, then turned and smiled at her again. "Some knight in shining armour I'm turning out to be.." Charlie sat down by the suitcase and looked up at her sidelong. "So, how did you end up God-Knows-Where on mystery bloody island?"
((your post was fab. Mine sucks.. But now we can get to know each other... um. Yeah.))

"It's okay.." Claire sat down next to Charlie and smiled at him. "Thanks anyway."
She looked at Charlie. She wondered if she had ever seen him before somewhere. Familiar is some way..Neh.. Claire thought. probably not.. Well, hoe díd she end up here, anyway? 'Some psychic told me there was a family in LA to adopt my baby' would kinda make a wrong impression. But she didn't want to lie either.
"There was a family in LA,.." She paused for a sec. "They were gonna adopt my baby."
((Do we have to follow the actual script wether we tell stuff or not?))

((nah.. go with what you want. Claire's your baby now.. Obviously stick to the plot, but other than that...))
"Oh.." There you go, sticking your foot in your mouth again, stupid. Mentally he kicked himself. Several times. Funny how he could always say the wrong thing, but, when it came to something like this, still find himself at a loss for words. He wondered whether changing the subject might help, couldn't see how it might, cleared his throat and.. stared at the horizpn, settling on another pointless "Oh..."
((yeah, it sucks. But think how awkward poor ickle Charlie is feeling right now and take some pity on me))

"It's okay." She smiled at him. "really" He obviously had no idea what to say. Poor little fella'. But Claire had to admit, this was a pretty awkward conversaion. So she decided to try and ease it down a bit. This guy seemed nice, no reason to be all nervous... "So, why is it..." For a short pause Claire wondered wether it wasn't too stupid to ask. She decided she realy didn't care that much. "Why is it you seem familiar?" She looked Charlie in the eye and smiled at him sweetly. ((Faye might be making a spectacular comeback )) (((Your posts are nifty, really. But lets just stop calling our own posts sucky, because it aint boosting the confidence, now is it? Though it does feel good when someone else calls your post fab...*looks confused*...)))

Jack had been walking down the beach when he had seen two people sitting there. He saw that one was pregnant and had instantly felt a strong wave of responsibility go through him. He approached them, needing to know if she was okay. He stopped in front of them and asked them their names.

Claire looked up. The doctor had walked towards them, and asked their names. "Claire", she replied. "Nice to meet you."
"Did I thank you?" She asked. "For, you know, saving me and all?" She smiled. When the plane crashed, she had had contractions. She couldn't get up, she couldn't move at all, and the wing was about to crash on top of her. Jack had saved her and the other guy from being smashed. Since then, she hadn't felt the baby move...at all.

Damn Charlie had just got all excited. The one thing he actually didn't hate about himself, someone actually wanting him to talk about it... and Jack had to turn up. And, to top it all, trump him in the saviour stakes. Bloody typical
But hey, this wasn't all bad. Mr. Hero-complex had at least registered his existance... and given him a platform to get back to the earlier conversation. "Charlie", he muttered, paying Jack the bare minimum of attention. Then he turned back to Claire, smiling semi-insanely. "Charlie Pace.. I was in a band. Driveshaft. You might have heard of us... maybe" He started to sing the chorus to their biggest (okay, only) hit...

Claire giggled. Charlie was singing the chorus of their 'hit', and she did recognise him from the band. "You all everybody...I've heard of you.." She smiled at Charlie, and then turned back to Jack for a second to make something that looked most like an apologising nodd. After all, she was talking to Charlie, first.
She glanced around. Charlie, who was still singing his lovely chorus. Jack, who still looked worried as hell and was now annoyingly staring at her so called 'issue'. The Korean couple she saw standing by the sea, and the mysterious bald guy who was now catching a fish. And the pregnant girl. Claire thought to herself. Gosh, what a couple of weirdo's..
Without noticing, she had been staring towards the horizon while Charlie was now trying to contact her in her trance. She turned to him quickly and smiled. "Sorry. I was just....thinking.."
