Name: Adam Grey III or “Trey”
Age: 28
Home before the crash: Sydney, Australia
Occupation before the crash: Private Investigator
Physical Description:
Eye Color – Iron gray.
Hair Color and Style – Dark brown, shaggy hair that looks better tousled than combed.
Signature – Scott Barnhill
Brief Description: Trey is a fit guy, more on the leaner side, however he does not have a six pack. But that doesn’t mean he’s fat, just slim, trim, and light. Trey has long, square face with high cheek bones that ‘never lie’. What I mean is that whenever he is hungry or exhausted his cheeks are the first place that goes very shallow and gaunt. Trey has a few scars; considering his job puts him in the line of fire more than once. He strides with authority, but bows his head and looks at the ground while he walks or straight forward with a glazed stare; like he knows where he’s going but has forgotten the reason why. This is figurative, of course, but when not aroused Trey always has this cold, fare off stare. People say he scowls a lot, but Trey persists it’s just his normal expression. It’s gone so far as to be called the “Grey Scowl” since nearly every member of the Grey family has an unintentional scowl when their facial expression is relaxed. One odd quirk Trey has is to sleep with his eyes open. Yes, it looks fairly freaky if you ever come upon him sleeping; his lids are almost all the way open and his eyes are rolled back so you can see only the whites. He is a very light sleeper to the point of someone dropping a pin and he would awake. However that doesn’t happen as often now since he is exhausted all the time. Finally, Trey has a strange sixth sense for people sneaking up on him. He supposes it comes with the job.
Personality: Trey is very honest and blunt, yet lies like it’s the most normal thing in the world. He as a tendency to either tell you everything you want to hear, or the total opposite; whatever strikes his fancy. He is very pessimistic and cynical with a sarcastic twist to most of his words. He can be very vindictive at times. Like the kind of guy who ruins a perfectly good joke by adding an unpleasant comment to the end, to which the laughing fades abruptly. Trey speaks what’s on his mind or says nothing at all. He’s a very pugnacious person. He is surprisingly productive, however hard to work with. Usually his compliments turn out to be nothing of the sort, and when he tries to be nice it usually ends up in disaster. Trey is extremely independent, but very loyal and dependable. Even though it may be hard to fathom, Trey always shows up on time and always accomplishes what he sets out to do. Trey is not lazy at all. In fact he goes a little crazy if he’s not doing something; often found pacing around the beach, working on his shelter, hunting, etc. so much that most people never know where to find him.
History: Trey grew up having everything he ever wanted except his parents. His family tree consisted of doctors, lawyers, politicians, and entrepreneurs who were very good at what they did, but had no family value what-so-ever. The Greys were a bunch of stone-cold people with lots of money, but never home to enjoy their lavish furniture or fancy cars. They existed merely to fill the lofty careers which most people can’t. The Greys were very educated and well-rounded folks, but their priorities weren’t very straight. They were also known for “convenience” marriages and scandal.
All this had gone on for three generations in the “Adam Grey” line (however it had been going on much longer on other branches of the vast Grey tree) until Adam Grey III was born December 5, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. From the start it seemed like Trey was destined to fail. The first unfortunate event happening to him before he was barely out of the womb; his mother died in labor. His early childhood was filled with coldness and an empty house.
However things got slightly better. As all the Greys before him, Trey was sent to a fine military academy and learned to be a pilot - which explains his vast knowledge of planes, air currents, etc. and his survival skills. The relationship with father and son only worsened after a bitter argument of why Trey “only” was second in his class and didn’t get valedictorian.
After high-school Trey was enlisted in the air force; his career road-map (planned out by his father) was to be a great politician and maybe even president, and that to gain any sort of status he had to become a “war-hero”. Trey never enjoyed the idea in the first place and after a fiery crash he left the service, much to his father’s contempt. Adam Jr. couldn’t stop his son from leaving “the plan”, but he could stop all communications and money loans.
Trey, having been basically abandoned, moved to Sydney, Australia – to get as far away as possible – and obtained his license to become a P.I., Private Investigator, on some unknown whim. Perhaps it was because it was an independent job with guns… Or the idea of helping people appealed to him; however he was sloth to show it. Whatever it was, it was a fresh start.
This was when Trey first started smoking and found jazz. He was actually fairly successful at his job. However extremely detestable he was to work with, Trey was a very skilled detective. Although a little reckless… well, very reckless…. Trey solved nearly every case put to him. Except for one.
It was the murder of a woman, found shot to death on her bed; Trey was hired by the woman’s husband. She was very pretty; however there was something about her that Trey just couldn’t put his finger on… He didn’t have to time to figure it out before the police shooed him away from the scene. The next day an unknown source placed an unmarked video tape in his mailbox. It was a surveillance tape of a local bar to which the victim was last seen. Trey was a frequent bar-goer, so he wasn’t surprised when he saw himself on the video tape.
At first Trey was fairly amused to watch himself drink shot after shot after shot, but soon it occurred to him that he drank a lot more than he thought he did. In fact so much so, that looking back to recall the night, Trey honestly couldn’t remember a thing. Which scared him slightly. As the video went on the victim entered. Trey found to his horror that that within the first ten minutes a lot went down between her and himself. Trey left the bar with her that night, both extremely tipsy.
It was after some deep thought provoking that he realized just what had happened. And that the suspect he was looking for was in the very room – himself. He remembered getting angry all of a sudden, pulling out his gun, and… However vague the details, Trey knew the big picture. That same day he caught a flight to L.A. Everybody runs.
Why they were on the flight: Running away from the police after figuring out he killed a woman while under the influence of alcohol.
Crash site: 1. Fuselage
Itinerary: His luggage and gun.
Strengths: Shooting, lying, tricking people into telling secrets or the truth, observing, knowledge of planes, knowledge of survival skills.
Weakness: Alcohol, swimming, hand-to-hand combat, being courteous.
