Sawyer took the stick back, shrugging and grinning as if to say 'Yeah, I know it's stupid.. but it's not like we have anything better to do'. He didn't feel guilty for playing Noughts and Crosses so soon after a crisis. Okay, so he hardly ever felt guilty about anything, but he was especially 'un-guilty' about all this. What, would it be better to work himself into the ground like Jack, or go mad like the crazy lady who kept moaning on about her husband Bennie, or Herman, or something? Hell, having some fun once it a while should be made compulsory before people started killing themselves, or each other... He sketched an X in the middle-row-left-column.

Kate watched as Sawyer wrote another X in the sand, and glanced around the beach. So she felt a bit useless sitting over here, drawing doodles in the sand with probably the biggest asshole on this island. She saw other people dragging suitcases up and down, or building huts at the upper part of the beach, or helping people with injuries. She felt guilty for not helping them, because Kate was a person who had to be constantly doing something.
She looked back at Sawyer. He put an X in the middle-row-left-column. Katen picked up another stick and put a circle in the bottom left corner. She wasn't really paying attention to where she was putting her circles, but thinking about what to do after this. Island life sucked at the moment, but there had to be a way to make it more interesting.
