Kate
Kate smiled sarcastically.
And if luck really turns our way, as if it hasn't already, we'll get a mango!
She laughed, for one of the first times since the plane crash. She glanced at Jack, aware of him looking at her. Her sidelong vision was that good, having to know if the police were eyeing her or not, and when to run. But she'd just try not to let her troubles show, and just act like everyone else on this plane. With no problems, just people going on holiday. Kate liked Jack, she really did. You needed some lifeline out here, one for happiness and one for anger. Jack was her happy line; and Sawyer so far remained her angry line. It would probably change, but a glint of anger still remained from the disaster. It was sure to evaporate, replaced by more of the emptiness she felt inside, and then Sawyer would no longer get any comments. But she realised she was beginning to like Sawyer a bit too; her anger was subsiding. But still, she felt anger with his stupid remarks. Stupid remarks that were like hers, she realised. Were they stupid after all?

"Well that would be lucky!"
He grinned. He knew alot about Kate. He had a relationship with her unlike what he had with anyone else on the island. She was very intelligent and was up in the ranks of leader of the survivors with him. But although he knew alot, he feared there was alot more that he didn't know and he wasn't planning on asking any time soon.

Kate
No, really. We've had enough luck in the last few days to last us a lifetime!
Kate smiled. If only that was the way it worked. You got your fair share. But she had had hers. Back before... She stopped there. No use reflecting on the past, though she did it often. Just by wishing something it wasn't going to come true. Not in the right way, anyway. She had wished to get away; and she had, far away where she was stranded. Irony was thick in Kate's world, and she guessed it wasn't finished with it's magic.

hey to let you know i'm the new jack so bear with me while I get my bearings and adapt to this new character
Jack smiled, thinking about all the situations that had happened since the crash. In fact, most of them involved Kate and he now felt comfortable around her, more so than the others. He didn't feel compelled to make up a speech with her and that made him relax, and start to think a liitle brighter.
sorry its a bit short. I have to catch up on alot of posting and hopefully will get better.
