Locke didn't know what to think about this woman. He was grateful for her thanks but thought she was a litttle rude for his taste. Who was she to criticise the small man? If he said he could fish then in Locke's opinion he could fish, even if he didn't catch anything. He nodded at the woman to acknowledge her thanks, then turned to face the beach.
"Hey You" he shoted at the little man, "Give it a go if you think you can catch something." He smiled broadly at him, people needed to see a friendly face after a plane crash. And anyhoo, if he didn't catch anything then Locke could.

Shannon Walked to wards Kate, and said. "So, should we go get some blankets and stuff, from the plane?" She didn't like being told what to do, especially by someone that she didn't even know, and Kate came across as Domineering, and yet mad to Shannon, so Shannon thought it would be a good idea to be her friend, cause she didn't want to have Kate as her enemy.

Kate
Kate nodded, thoughtfully.
Yeah, that'd be good. Ok guys, if you can fish, go ahead. We need as much food as we can get out here.
She said, turning to the blonde girl.
Okay, lets go. One more thing. What's your name?

Nobody's useless. Everyone has a purpose, and yours is to learn whatever you can about this island, and remember it. Everyone else will be so busy rushing around trying to find food and water and things before nightfall we won't have time.
Kate said calmly, pulling her dripping, stained over-top off and leaving it on the sand to dry.

Charlie was glad the old guy had smiled at him, since it seemed everyone else on the beach either hated him or failed to register his existence.. but he still had this fishing business to deal with. He cleared his throat. "Um, excuse me.. don't suppose anyone brought a fishing rod in their hand-luggage or something? Because, y'know, I can't just reach in and grab the fish. That's not how it works.."

Locke was amused at the small man's Englishness in a situation like this. It was so typical!!!!!!!
"I don't have a rod but you could strip a branch from a tree and make a sharp stick out of it and then stab a fish like that."

Maxwell's head moved to Kate, almost like if he was watching her and nodded. "I'll do what I can" he said simply and slowly walked away of the group heading to the forest. He wasnt actually going to walk into it, but because of the type of trees that it had and the size of them they could know what kind of weather the island usually had. Plus somethings else, perhaps some kind of food or anything.

Do whatever you can, anyone. We need as much help as we can get.
Kate said worriedly. Were they going to survive this? Only time would tell...

Shannon "Erm excuse me. My name is Shannon and I think someone stay here with Maxwell?" She looked around at everyone hoping that no-one would volunteer, if they didn't volunteer themselves then she would rather stay with him, because even though she suggested getting blankets, it seemed like hard work to her, and she would much rather, just sit and chat to maxwell.

Shannon, listen. We are not children to be looked after. I'm sure Maxwell can cope. Right now we have bigger things than company. We have to keep a whole planeful of people alive. Its like, every man for himself out here. Not suggesting we ignore people. But just think about it. Maxwell has coped being blind. Right now all we need is supplies. I'm sure Maxwell will be fine for a couple of hours.
As she tried to reassure others, she realised she was also reassuring herself. Although she may seem strong and secure, deep down she was heart-wrenchingly worried.

Shannon "Ok, I was only suggesting that I stay to keep an eye on him. I mean he is a stranger to this place, as are we all but he can't see where he's going. But I suppose your right. Lets go"

Charlie turned to the old guy. "Sounds like a plan, ...um... I don't think I know your name. Sorry. I'm Charlie, Charlie Pace."

"Hello Charlie," Locke said cheerily, giving his small man a broad smile. It was nice to finally put a name to a face. "My name is Locke, John Locke." They now knew each others names, it was a start at least. "So what do you do?" he asked.

"Right now I fish.." Charlie swelled with pride. The one thing he liked talking about was his job. ".. but back in England, I play bass in Driveshaft"
