and this is why... Jack isn't human. He's a cardboard cut out, designed to be the perfect hero. Sure, they try to make him interesting and tormented, but even his 'one mistake' is something noble, done right for the right reasons...

Sawyer, on the other hand, well, he's interesting. It doesn't hurt that he's much better looking than Jack... and hell, I guess I just like the bad guys, but it's more than that. His backstory... the idea of loathing yourself that much... his gradual journey towards redemption... his baggage... Hell, I just love him. So there.
