It seemed that they had been on the island for weeks. How long it really was, he didn't know. Time had passed in a bit of blur, first with the hell of withdrawal and then in a much nicer way..
Claire. Charlie had been spending more and more time with her. Hurley had even joked that the cute Australian had some sort of crush on the Rock-Star, which was silly, of course, but still... she was.. nice was the closest he could come, but it was so much more than that. And he'd promised himself he'd look after her. Which first of all meant getting her off this godforsaken beach and up to the caves, where there was fresh water and a doctor.
Speak of the devil he smiled to himself, spotting her up ahead on the beach, writing in her diary again, and sporting a very stylish bucket hat. He was somewhat confused as to what she wrote in that book, why she'd want to remember this place. But whatever. He had been hoping to run into her, had a bottle of water with him to give to her. "Morning delivery"

Claire was sat on the beach, leaning back on her hands looking out over the ocean as the waves lapped up the shore infront of her. She was sat in the shade of a few trees, her long blonde hair flowing down her back. She looked round as she heard someone talk and realised it was Charlie with water. She grinned up at him, moving one of her hands to sheild her eyes from the sun. "Oh, you're sweet. Thanks!" She said looking up at him.

Charlie blushed.. she thought he was.. sweet? Well, that was good. He took a seat next to her on the sand, still smiling.
"Well, I figured in your condition, with the extra baggage, you know. . ." Uch.. foot in mouth taking over yet again. He hadn't wanted to seem so.. patronising, acting as if she couldn't do anything for herself just because of that... because she was.. ech. Awkwardness. Delightful. Well, what he had meant was that he was going to look after her.. or try to, given how well he'd failed at looking after himself.

Claire grinned as she rolled her eyes. "Well, I can still walk." She said as her eyes followed him as he sat down next to her. She switched to leaning back again, resting her arms behind her and letting her hands point towards the trees. She looked down at the large baby bump, thinking how stupid it was that she was sat on a beach in the middle of no where when she was over 8 months pregnant.

"Barely" he laughed, glancing down at her bump.. It was sort of.. well, huge, although he'd never tell her that incase she thought he found it unattractive. Nothing could spoil her for him.
"Anyway," - he played with the idea for a while, letting the word hang, while he worked out exactly how to phrase what he was feeling. "I worry about you out here." seemed about right, although following it up with "You know, it's very. . ." probably wasn't the best idea.. because he then needed to work out what exactly it was that the beach was to such an extent it would make him worry about her. The "..sunny." he eventually settled on sounded sort of lame...
