Trying to be menacing? Well, that was a new one.. Maybe the Doc wasn't as clean cut as he made out, a prospect that was almost irresistable, the chance to knock him off his high horse once and for all. Fabulous.
He had no idea what was going on, what Jack wanted. So he asked, being as uncooperative as humanly possible - which, given that this was Sawyer, was more than the average bear. "Where's what?"
((And lo.. the muse dies. Erk))

Sawyers indifference was starting to get to Jack and he was feeling more and more impatient.
"The girl's asthma medicine. Shannon, her inhalers."
Jack took a step forward ready for any answer that Sawyer would give him.

Ah. Well, he couldn't pretend he hadn't expected that Jack would confront him over that some time soon.. Although he had hoped Boone wouldn't go running to Daddy-Hero-Complex quite so quickly, how disappointing.
"Oh, that."

Jack felt a burst of anger at these words. It sounded like he couldn't give a damn if the girl was sick. What kind of man was he?
"You attacked a kid for trying to help his sick sister."
After saying this he felt a rise of pure hatred, he really wanted to hit him at that moment.

"No, I whooped a thief cuz he was going through my stuff."
Come on, it's not like this was at all complicated, now, was it? Boone had no right to be rooting through what was Sawyer's... and he had a sickening feeling that Jack was just being like this because it was him. If the positions had been reversed, he had no doubt that the good doctor wouldn't raise a perfectly maintained eyebrow.. infact he'd probably be leading the celebrations, sigh.

The nerve of him, Jack's impatience was growing.
"Yours? What makes it yours? What, you think you can just take something out of a suitcase and that makes it yours?"
Jack thought that he would have some decency as he was stuck in the same predicament as the others, but Sawyer refused to acknowledge the common laws that everyone else seemed to adhere to and that really made Jack want to stop him.

"...Which I had to move because everybody just wants to help themselves" Sawyer continued as if Jack had never spoken. Honestly, the nerve of the man - to question him? Really? So it was okay for Boone and Shannon to own things, but not him? Sigh.. life on the island was really going to suck if this Jackass ended up in charge.
"Look, I don't know what kind of commie share-fest you're running over in cave town, but down here possession's 9/10ths. And a man's got a right to protect his property"
There. Succint. Undeniable. Sawyer's philosophy of life in a nutshell. Take what you can, and make sure no one else can take it away from you. The basis of all those 'Great American Values' Jack paid such touching lipservice to... Not much you can say to that, is there?

The bull sprouted by this man, made Jack finally lose his usual cool, easy going attitude.
"Get up."
He said this so that Sawyer would be in no doubt that Jack was extremely miffed.

Haha.. this was frickin' hillarious. Jack losing his cool. Almost made the beating he was probably about to get worth it... Understand, Sawyer wasn't scared that Jack, ponce that he was, would inflict any damage on him, more that he's deck Jack and then everyone would hate him even more. Hang on.. that wasn't a bad thing. Fantastic.
Still, he'd learnt from that thing with Sayid not to make the first move. "Why? You want to see who's taller?"

This wasn't what Jack wanted but he needed to do something otherwise Shannon's condition would just get worse.
"Get up."
Hopefully this moron would just get the hint already. Jack wasn't willing to play around on this one.
