The thought of help just wasn't working anymore. That lil' bit o' hope to cling onto was fading away each and every day on this island. As the hope went, so did the will to continue. There was so many faces on this island, no-one really knew each other, no-one was really trying. Everyone are different, but everyone is lost.
There was no reason for his temper, nothing had provoked the fuse which had snapped. Maybe it was just the heat and stress. There was enough stress to share equally with everyone on the island. Boone kicked at the sand and stopped, his mop of hair fell neatly as he looked down the beach. His jaw set tight and solid as he stared hard.
He seemed to breath in heavily through his nos, his chest rising, clear to the eye, and then it relaxed, all the hot air blowing out. He dropped to his knees, and then backwards. The final result, he was laid on his back with his knees bent, ihs arms out beside his sides. As if asking the sky to suck him up. Get him off this god damned island. He was Lost. |

Kate had seen the stranger from a bit away. She walked over, questioning. But first her priority on this godforsaken island was to be as assertive as possible. At least, it had been her first priority since she saw the man sitting on the beach. No time for worry if they were going to survive. Although she worried night and day. Not about being lost; other things.
Hiya! Name's Kate, you?
She smiled. Kate had got quite good at acting over the past months. Amazing how a fake smile could keep you out of jail. And a tear in one eye could keep someone from phoning the police. And a made-up story could save your life.

Instantly a sacracstic comment came into ihs head. He couldn't bite his tongue. He had to let the hot air out, and this unfortante girl was about to get a taste of ihs nasty tongue when it was about.
His capturing gaze fell silently on her, and he just lifted his chin up, his jaw set hard until he spoke his comment, deciing against letting slip on sacrasim at the last minute.
"Boone."
A simple, one word answer, that was his name, thats all she asked. |

Heard his voice, it imediately awoke her from her sleep, she followed the muffled voices, and she began to run, faster and faster until she reached her brothers side. She ran that fast towards him, with her arms open wide, she nearly knocked him over. She hugged him briefly, then slapped him hard across the face and said.
"Where the hell have you been?"

It was almost as if she could see the cogs in his head working. With no answer springing to mind, Kate jumped back as Shannon drove into Boone. A friendly reuinon... but secretly Kate longed for one. But most of the people Kate had known kept away from her now, just as she kept away from them. It was lonely, being her. But she couldn't do anything else. Not wanting to break up the 'happy' meeting, Kate walked slowly away from the joyful Shannon and Boone, looking slightly shocked. With a suppressed giggle, Kate left.

Boone saw Shannon coming instantly, and just before she wrapped her arms around him he knew what was coming. He didn't hug her back, he didn't get chance, his hand just ran down her arm and his face turned as she slapped him. His face just turned into an expression of anger. He looked at her once and then turned away and walked down the beach, not even answering her. She wasn't going to treat him like this. |

Shouted out after he walked away.
"Boone wait up."
She ran after him, although it was not easy to run in her red high heels, she slipped them off and walked along side him and continued.
"Hey what's the big idea? I'm sorry I slapped you, but I have been here all night and with no-one here to help me. I need you Boone"
She said as she grabbed his arm.
"Whats going on with you? Are you ok?"

Sayid was walking along the beach, well sort of limping actually but it wasn't very noticable. He stopped walking and planted himself down on the sand. He saw Shannon and Boone's reunion but then watched as Boone went to turn away and Shannon followed him. His dark curly hair was moving gently in the sea wind. He turned again to look at Shannon and Boone squabbling and then ran a hand through his hair.

"Fine don't answer me then"
She said to Boone, she started to walk away from him saying...
"I can live without you, but can you live without me?"
She wandered back to the beach area, where everyone else was gathering, muttering to herself.
"Hmmm, I don't need him. Anyways, who the hell does he think he is. MR perfectionist"

Sayid got up off the sand and followed Shannon back to the main beach. He thought her name was Shannon, well thats what he'd heard. He jogged slowly to her side, his leg hurting him a little.
"Hey, Shannon right?"
He asked with his foreign accent showing through.
"Are you ok?"
He asked walking next to her and observing her face so he would remember her next time he saw her.

Turned around to face the stranger, she looked at his eyes and said.
"Yes. I'm Shannon. And you are?"
As she waited for his response, she looked over his shoulders, to see where her brother had gone, and to see if he was watching her talking to the man standing before. She hoped he was watching, and that he was jealous.

He replied simply. He looked at the girl, his chocolate coloured eyes making sure that she wasn't hrt or anything.
"Nice to meet you Shannon."
He smiled to her and held out his hand. Not noticing anything wrong, he thought he'd just ask.
"Are you ok? Were you hurt in the crash at all?"

"No, its fine, I've had worse."
He gave her a friendly smile and looked towards where Boone had head and then back to Shannon.
"Whats up with him?"
He asked frowning and looking into Shannon's eyes. She was really pretty but now was not the time to be thinking about that! They'd just crash landed on a desert island for gods sake. He smiled to Shannon again, awaiting her answer.

((couldn't logg in)) Boone just watched her walk off, but instantly his eyes narrowed as this guy approached her and they began talking.
His hands out of his pockets he began walking up, he felt guilty but he had been trying to piece everything together, and he hadn't even known if Shannon was alive and he was dealing with trying to find her and everything. "Hey.." He said towards the guy, but it wasn't a greeting, it was a means of breaking the conversation. "Come on Shannon, i can get you some water and we'll get you some clothes." He said, moving inront of her and holding out his hand, and a small smile was visable at the cracks of ihs lips. His back blocking out sayid. |
